Default brake calipers stuck??

i am in the middle of an engine swap. 88 crx si, for some reason the guy i got it off of took the front brake calipers off and took them apart to tow it when the engine blew. now the pistons are pushed the whole way out and stuck. i cant push them back in.

i have another set of calipers in my garage, but i dont want to mess with bleeding them if i dont have to. is there somthing else i can try or should i just swap the calipers?? also are calipers off of a 90 4 door lx the same as a 88 crx si? thanks guys

hmmm, well how are you pushing on the pistons???
by hand? try a set of channel-locks on the piston and push down against the outside of the caliper.make sure the cap on the brake fluid reservoir is off and if THat doesnt work, try unscrewing the bleed nipple on the caliper and using the channel locks then. hey if you got another set just change em buddy.

Either way, if you can push the piston back in or if you replace, you still should bleed em.

Bleeding brakes is super easy, and should be done regularly.

actually you DON't need to bleed after pushing in the piston. all you are dsoing is displacing the fluid in a sealed system and sending it back to the point of least resistance-the resavoir. fyi-
