ok this applies to body and detailing.....somewhat
ok so today im running some parts over to honda and i had a box of paint supplies in the trunk. well to make a long story short there was a can of base maker that i guess didnt have the right cap on it and it tipped over leaking out into my trunk. making the entire car smell like basemaker, ive got 2 air freshners in there and ive used almost an entire bottle of febreeze and it still reeks i had to drive with my windows down in pouring rain. i just pulled the trunk carpet and cardboard out and im going to see if i can wash it tomorrow but what im asking is if any of you have any tips to get the smell out? or do i just need to keep leaving my windows down as much as possible and just let time do its thing.
Whenever I've had problems with weird smells in cars I've used an o-zone machine. Then again, those were usually natural smells (pet odors, vomit, etc).
I don't think they're usually cheap though. You might want to try calling up some local detailing shops and see if they can handle such odor removal.
I hope this helps.
