Default eg sir cluster question

i just got a sir cluster from a guy today. here is the question. my old cluster everything worked. i plug this one in and well everything works but the temp guage...it is pinned on hot. i turn the switch off...it drops to cold..start it up..back to hot. wtf is the deal with this thing? the guy i got it from said it worked fine for him. any and all help is appreciated.

I've noticed that this is a problem with these clusters. Not too sure how to remedy the situation. May be check that the screws on the back of the temp/fuel gauge is screwed on too tight, but not free spinning. Free spinning means the gauge is screwed up already.

I had the same problem and ended up buying a new temp/fuel gauge from Japan.

i just figured it out...and yes..someone (me) overtightened the damn screws and the plastic pieces were broke...
remedy....took the temp guage out of a usdm and carefully took the sir one apart and put it on it. she works now
