u gonna get your ride stolen!
I have been reading on this site for only about a year or so now but in that time I must have read at least 50 posts about somebody getting their car stolen and I hate to hear it. We put so much thought and time into a car not to mention money ot get the piece of "art" we are so driven to make. My area isn't to bad and I take security measures but lately that doesn't seem to be good enough. Has anbody looked into getting the LAW involved (I know how well we all like them but in this situation they might be able to do some good). I think it might be worth the time if you live in a bad area to have a talk and see if a sting opperation can be set up. At the top of the criminal ladder there is more than likely more expensive cars getting stolen (german impotrs and such) so it might be in the best intrest of all of us (honda owners and the poliece) to do something about it.
This is just my thoughts since I get a bit down when I see a nice clean ride stolen and then see the after pice of it just torn apart. Such a waste! Good luck to everyone that has gotten their honda or other car/truck/van stolen.

the law doesnt care about honda car theft. I've only heard about a couple of stings in Nor.Cal, but nothing more.
I think it'd be easy to park a yellow jdm front type-r in some areas and just watch it get stolen in a matter of hours in So.Cal.
sting operations easy? --yes
law cares? --no

have you guys seen that show where they put cameras and gps sensors in cars and wait for them to be stolen the chase them down and arrest them? They should do a honda special.

They can do a whole season dedicated to honda theft

They have car theft stings all the time. Do they catch people? Tons of them? Does it make a difference in the auto theft world? Nope. There's too many car thieves out there that the police couldn't keep up if they wanted to. The best thing you can do as a car owner is to protect yourself.

The Cops probably think,"one less ricer to worry about". Seriously though they don't give a sh*t. That's why I hate cops. Its to bad I have to say that but when the majority are "A-Holes" what you going to do? I feel bad for the cops that are actual Peace officers and help out society.
they have had a couple sting operations up here but not enough to really make a difference. the only way to slow down car thieves is much longer jail sentences.

car insurance companies state that a car is stolen in the United States once every 30 seconds. Nothing is going to change. So what if cops got on the issue harder, oh a car's gonna get stolen every 31 seconds now...
Unfortunately theft happens, its part of the risk in this game we all play.

i know a bunch of people im friends with have had hondas stolen before, and im not including breaking into either. the cops try to care, but a lot of times they dont. they see us and think that we're all out street racing causing problems. in the last few months tho, ive talked to numerous cops who said that a lot of hondas have been stolen right in my area, and the only reason i have talked to them is because they always ****** pull me over by my house
because they think my car is stolen. then they realize its not and try to badger me into as many tickets as they can hand out.
yes operations to catch thieves will work, but it isnt worth the law's money/time. they dont care about petty car theft, and thats why all these people get away with it. the best thing you can possibly do is to take security into your own hands. get a great alarm system, even things liek removable wheel/lock, clutch lock/pedal locks, even the club on regular wheels even though people have cut throught them. get one of those locks that goes around your rim, get lojack even. it sucks that all this has to be done to keep our pride and joy safe, but thats what has to be done, and i for one WILL NOT let theives decide what i do or put on my car because of the chance of theft.
just my .02

all this money we spend on alarms/removable wheels/etc. etc.
we should start using gps tracking devices as a security measure on a WIDE scale that way as soon as the car is stolen,it get can tracked by you/ cops before it even gets stripped down.
I think we need to realize that theres not much now days that can stop em from taking it,so lets focus a little more on preventing it getting stripped beforehand/bustin the thiefs

I disagree... any top notch car with a good security system/safe location that gets stolen, chances are that it is not because of a tweaker/crack head or heroin addict. those ******* can hardly function whiile sober, let alone know how to steal a "well protected" car. IMHO the nice cars get taklen by "good" thieves who know what they are getting, and know how to get it.
