Won't rev over 5500 RPM - normal ??
2003 accord ex-v6 4-door automatic
when i'm in neutral and try to rev, it won't go past 5500 RPM and seems to kick a little bit also at that rev speed.
i haven't tried it on the freeway.
is this normal or is there a problem here? it never got close to the red line 7500 RPM.
thanks.

Its fine. When its in Neutral or Park it wont go over 5500 RPM. Its a safety feature so you don't break your engine. But when you're in Drive, you can go up until the redline wherever that is.
you're hitting the revv limiter and fuel cut off so you don't redline and blow the motor in nuetral. why would you want to rev to redline anyways, its extremely bad to free revv an engine with no load on it.
