Default Del Sol Trans Top (Transtop) in action...

After a brief discussion with a mod about whether or not to post this, I've decided in favor of it.

http://world.honda.com/motion/18/index.html

This is a video of the Del Sol's Trans Top in action. After searching for a previous post that would cover this, I couldn't find any, and if it needs to be posted anywhere, it should be on Honda-Tech. Also, I'm hoping that it may persuade people to think twice before trying to convert their Del Sol to it.

Anyway, the gear system looks fascinating, and frankly the mechanism is just too complicated... I can see why they fail, and why they never tried to bring it to the US. It's an odd system, but you have to give Honda credit for being unique. Regardless... here's a nifty bit of Honda technological advancement... Yikes!

Any input on how that thing is stored in the trunk?

When I saw that, I was thinking "Man, that doesn't look like something a Honda engineer came up with... it's too complicated to be practical or durable! It looks more like something out of a Mitsubishi designer's head."
