Default Baseline Run: 181.98whp

So I got my car dynoed yesterday for just a simple baseline run before I start doing any mods. Unfortunately, they were getting some interference and couldn't get and accurate read on the rpm (I guess it just broke up all crazy after 3k), so there was no torque numbers.

Don't have a pic of the sheet right now, but the peak whp was 181.98 and the average of the 3 pulls was 177.33.

I went in there expecting somewhere around a 180 peak, so I'm pretty happy overall. Wish I could've gotten the torque numbers, but we'll just have to get that next time.

You can't really see it that well, but from the graph, my car was pulling the hardest at about 102mph...

noob question----->....Are those numbers to the wheels? or peak horsepower overall?

And how much does a dyno test cost?

yes, those are all numbers at the wheels (whp). and these guys were going to charge me $95 for the baseline run with no tweaking, but since they couldn't get rpm or torque, they only charged me $80

not too bad...

yeah, you can see how inaccurate it can be though. You took 3 pulls with a high of 181, and an average of 177. 3 pulls on a mustang dyno would be almost identical

how can you say that.. doesn't make sense.. you don't know if it was back to back to back.. or cold, warm, FOT. you just predict that a mustang dyno would be "better" somehow. conditions of the car and weather being identical for all 3 runs would be the only way to tell, and then why would one read so inaccuratly to come up with the same average... not gonna happen..

do they even have dynos in charlotte they let import kids near? I thought they were all reserved for Nascar teams.. j/k

Dynojet is much better for acurate readings. If you do 3 runs consecutive, you will lose power. I just did mine yesterday. It is better or the car to be cool

you actually have a few degrees temperature difference on the runs... the one where the ambient air was the coolest was where you made your 181hp run. looked like maybe a slight humidity change (maybe a percent). Either way..

"I bet the runs differed so much 'cause it was a dynojet" lol

Good numbers man..

Who cares? As long as he continues to use this dyno in the future, it'll work just as well as your mustang dyno.

good point. It's really just all about the gains, and if I stay on this dyno I won't have to worry about factoring in dyno accuracy differences

As long as you use the same one, you are good. There is no way you will ever get an acurrate dyno with 3 runs. They will all be differant.

Yesterday my first was a 193 then a 187. Those where back to back. I then let the car cool for 10-15 min and did 199.

Thanks man! But yeah, next time you should come too... It'll be nice to see where you'll be at with the new exhaust.

Just got my Fujita SRI on the car over the weekend, and that thing is sweeeeet But I prolly won't run it on the dyno until I do some more stuff...

So there is more to come!
