which engine should i swap into my crx that is cheap besides a d16 that i could get for about 1000 dollars

 

a b18 ls motor you would possibly be able to do for a little over a $1000 depending what parts you get.

 

Id go with a v8 that seem to a good idea

Seriously now, the best engine for your honda is WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY!

If you have $1000, DOHC ZC.
If you have $2000, get a 1st gen b16a. It'll cost that much to get it in.
If you have $4000, get a GSR/B18C1.
If you have $5500, get a ITR/B18C5.
If you have $10K, and no use for your car for a month or two... get a K20.

So, buy a used supercharger.
And a better camshaft.
