I recently bought a used sending unit(which the seller claimed is in good condition) and replaced the old one. As soon as i turned the engine on, the lights turned on and the gauge needle functioned well. I thought it would go away if i reset the car by pulling the negative off the battery. Drove the car after resetting for a day. Until now, lights still on. Any ideas? thanks.

 

I meant i drove the car for a day after resetting for 5 minutes.

sounds like the sending unit you bought is bad..i think they have some kind of sensor on them to tell the car when its low on fuel and that sensor is probably bad

 

i thought so too. but the gauge is doing okay. at least it tells me the real amount of gas thats left. its just annoying to see that fuel light on beside the abs light w/c is also on. thanks though.
