i have to repaint some bumpers that have paint chips and cracking off paint. is there a easy way to strip the bumper down to the plastic without eating it up or sanding it down?
They make a stipper for bumpers....But u are better of to fix the chips and the spider cracks in the paint and leave as much of the factory paint as its a good place to start with your new paint

ok thanks. seems like a bitch and a good bit of work to mess with the chips and cracked paint.
The right way to do it would be to open up the chips by DA sanding them out. Or like mentioned above you could get some aircraft stripper, but make sure its the one for plastic

alright thanks for taking the time to input guys. i'm gonna try the stripper for plastic. auto body/paint supply stores sell this stuff? *note: a brand new or searching for a mint new bumper is kinda out of the question as this isn't my car. there is already a **** load of work on both rear quarters and doors.
