Default Belt squeak when shifting gears.

Okay, so when I'm at WOT and shift gears at the end of the gear, i usually hear a betl squeak. Sometimes it does it if i gradually take the y7 up to about 5500 rpms.

I'm pretty sure it's the A/c belt skipping or turning on when I get into that rpm range.

But my question is, Why is it only at high rotations?

I'm not 100% it's the A/c belt, it could be anything but that. This is the only time it squeaks.

What do you guys think?

Is this only when your AC is running?

It could be the alternator belt if the alternator is loading up with a large electrical pull - are you boomin' out a stereo while you're at WOT and shifting gears?

I always have my A/c on and I'm always listening to the radio.

but I've turned the radio off before to listen for it, and it still happens.

Where are you in GA?

Belts too tight. Check all three belts

So you think them being too tight will make them squeak at higher rpms?

Check the belt tensions. As the guy stated above, too tight could be the culprit, just as well as too loose.

My car use to do that when i had ac on and got past 5000 rpm, the problem was that the belt was loose.

I'll check it out

That's what I figured it was, I'd just rather consult the populous than get my hands dirty.

Besides it's 94 outside, And i'm in GA.
