Default V6 Swap in-to Civic

Ok guys, I HAVE searched, but found nothing. Im trying to find any threads or websites that have topics on swapping V6's into the EG Hatch Chassis. Im planning on doing this swap as a personal project, then turning it into a "shop" project. Ive decided on the C32a from a 2nd Gen Acura Legend.

If anyone has any information or pics regarding any similar V6 swaps please post. I need to find as much info as possible. Ive searched google, hondaswap.com and many others but came up with insufficient info or non at all.

thanks in advance!

- John.

Have you tried the hybrid forum?

We don't see much of the "Crazy as all hell" swaps in here. You're better off looking in the hybrid forum were they do all kinds of ridiculousness in there.

Good luck though, should be a cool aspect.

Though what's wrong with an H or a K?

Well IMO, the H and K series swaps are slowly becoming easier to install and in a few years will be just as common as the B16 was back in the early 90's and still are.

And plus, Its gunna be different to open the hood and not have it look like a "pebble in a garbage can". it will look like i bought a shoehorn to put it in. Makes it look more impressive. Plus i just wanna explore new options.

AND, how many other people can say they've got a V6 EG civic.

Oh yeah man, more power to ya, just make sure to get the type-2 or whatever the cool motor was they put in it.

The legends were available in a 6spd "type-2/s" or something if I remember correctly.

Rock on.

yea my plan is for a 6 speed. RHD 92-95 cx.

and another reason is because the C32's sound badass with a proper exhaust.

Will be sick and unique. Not to mention hella fast if you get it running right. I can forsee you running into traction problems though. Might want to run a beefy tire up front.

Not to discourage you but... I know the V6 Accords are all auto and more importantly the front clip is few inches longer. now I am not saying it can not be done. there are Ks and Hs in crxs but you are about to get into ALOT of fab work. I read in the Hybrid forum one time about some one ptting a small block chevy in a civic. he even made it RWD. Have you researched the C32? does it come auto and manual in the Legend? you got me instrested now...

Mickey thompson Street Drag dot tires guna be a "weekend car" so it will always have DOt approved slicks on it, so i can beat on some vettes.

ad of course it will be a Road race car, not so much a drag car. so a full TEIN suspension, sway bars, rollcage, etc, etc, etc... Im hoping for around 350-400whp. N/A. If i must go Turbo I wll go Twin Turbo.

KEEP IN MIND this is gona be a project for about 3-4 years im guessing. It will tur ninto my "shop mascot" car when it done.

Once you see a 91-95 Legend engine, transmission, and differential out of the car you'll forget all about this idea. My shop works on them daily and they are not by any means a high performance platform to build upon. You'd be better off trying an NSX package because their transmissions are more suited for a Civic rather than the crazy "u-turn" diff and tranny for the Legend.

Most of them (Legend C32A engines ) smoke from worn rings/valvestem seals/valveguides and they are very succeptable to blown head gaskets too.

My personal opinion is I'd never build anything performance oriented and base it off of a Legend C32A engine.

You can make more reliable power with a B series, H series, or K series.

V6's are a cool, one of a kind swap into a civic, but i would imagine that it would offeset the balance allot, and it woudlnt perform correctly, speaking in terms of handling. I think it would do decent in the 1\4mile tho.

b18c5 eh2 ftw.

Point well made. If you want a weekend monster, a 500whp b or H series would be plenty.

Throwing that huge heavy motor into the front of a civic is gonna throw off the geometry of the whole car and you want to road race it? If want to be at all competitive or even stay on the coarse you will sit back, think about this, and realize what a horrible idea it is. Its like doing an h22 swap yeah you gain some power, but now you weigh more. Your just taking to the next level and the benefits dont outweigh the cons.

You are a sick puppy to do that but I do agree with some off these reply and some no 1st off the c32 is a huge mother so you while need to fab alot of stuff plus the Drive line you while possibly be able to squeeze the motor in the engine bay but then the axles are going to be dam near impossible to line up with the hubs
you might want to make it rear wheel drive
you might have to tube the front so you have a lil more room to play with but by then it will be dam near a race car lol. And a c32 is not the preferred motor to do the swap look fot a acura legend type 2 motor it is badass 6 speed that even in a legend hauls *** but like someone else said you might be better off using the nsx setup with real wheel drive ive seen people in Crx also do rear roll cage / engine craddle and make the crx rear wheel drive i have seen small block in civic also lots of sheet metal work also but it was into a 96ek not the eg so becareful how you do this no matter what im pretty sure evryone here will root for you cause it will just be something diffrent and another Honda Hybrid conquered

An h22 weights 60lbs more than your average b18. I've seen h22 EG's auto-x on you tube.

It's not very popular, I've seen a few pictures of them done, never seen one in real life though. It's probably gonna cost more than a K swap...so weigh it.

Well you could always do some chassis fab and place the engine in the rear hatch compartment, and making it rwd, it be more suitable for what you want to do as far as racing, but as far as launching at the drag strip, your front will hop up easily id assume. just an idea to toss in the bucket, and this has been done.
