Default skeptical about h22a swap, opinions please!!!!

I have a 1997 accord lx. I want to swap to an h22a. I have auto trans right now, would be switching to manual. Is there any reason why i shouldnt swap? Has anyone had any serious problems? My neighbor can do it for me, he swapped in an h22 in his 93 prelude and seems to have done a good job. He never has any problems as far as I know. I have a v6 in the car right now but it drags and doesnt have the power I want. Should I just switch to manual, I;ve heard that is not the best idea. Other than the engine and tranny what else should I expect to buy for the swap? total cost?? thanks ogkush

You're gonna have a bit of a problem mounting the H22 in your car b/c the V6's have a longer nose than the 4cyl's. Not saying it can't be done but its gonna cost you, wiring should be fun too.

You can swap to manual, I know there's a write up for it on Accordinglydone.com

yeah my neighbor says it will fit but i dont want to spend the money and be disappointed!!! I dont want to tear the car apart for nothing either. Ive seen accords with the h22 or a very similar engine but they might have not been the v6 model. So I guess i'll wait and see if anyone else posts anything helpful. Thanks for your help, i posted last week about my locks but no one responded. I thought my post was removed from the site or something!! peace

As far as I know the H22 won't fit into the v6 engine bay but keep lookin around, you might get lucky. And with the manual swap, I don't think they made any v6 manual trannys, so no dice.
