Default aux plug

I saw some of your pics had something plugged into that aux port. I wonder what I can plug with for mine lol I have the music link cable in glove box to connect to my ipod. Other than ipod what else could I use that aux port for? I'm not even sure how to use that aux port with my ipod if I could.

So the question is what I can do with my aux port?

Basically you can hook up anything that has a headphone jack to it and it will play through your stereo (ie: ipod, mp3 player, walkman, cell phone, you get the point)

Yeah you can use steering wheel control to jump to next or previous songs and control the volume, but they can't get you out of your playlist whichever it is on when you connected your ipod to the link. I have yet to figure out how to get it display my song info, it just say track 1 etc.

Hit the "DISP." (Display) button on the upper right hand side of your headunit, that should do the trick.

Radioshack has them, and so should Best Buy or almost any major electronics store. they are usually only a few bucks.

You can still change the songs/volume from the headunit, which you can't do with an aux cable. You will also get better sound quality with the music link than just an aux cable. (aux cable plugs in through the headphone jack, music link through the data port) Not to mention it charges your iPod for you and keeps your install clean without any wires showing.

Once they come out with a more user friendly revision I am definitely going to buy one!

It also might have to do with how you have your mp3's tagged.

what display button? I looked around, and there is no display button on my Navi. Are you talking about the XM unit? the one that has a message display screen that displays one line message? If that's the case, I still dont' know how to get my songs displayed on my navi, someone said something about how the songs are arranged in ipod has something to do with it. I have all my songs separated into different playlist. Is that why?

Well its simple I went to Radio Shack bought the Aux cable for $5 bucks and put ur volume all the way up on the IPOD and then control it from ur steering wheel.

Also for the guy not locating tha jack maybe it just didnt come with ur car options but it should be under the 12v jack flip it down and ur set to go ....

I think the music link to the back of the radio is a waste of money simple $5 buck jack does the trick.

Even though you can control the volume with your stereo's audio controls, the loudness is ultimately controlled by the level you leave it on your ipod. If you have your volume at 0 on your iPod you aren't going to have any sound regardless of how high you turn up your radio.

So yes you can but it still isn't as good (IMO) and it won't be as loud.

In this case the Ipod is acting as a preamp, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it will sound best if you turn the volume up... it will actually be louder than CD's. DO NOT CONTROL THE VOLUME OF YOUR IPOD WITH ITs VOLUME CONTROL. In your ipod setup, there is a setting to play songs at same volume. What this does is evens out the dynamic range of your music collection so that they will all sound (volume wise) similar. The problem with most people is that they never set electronics up correctly. The Music Link was discontinued for a reason.. it was very glitchy and overall not a very well thought out product. Apple and Honda are supposed to be working on a replacement currently.

There was an updated version of music link back in September last year I think, or somewhere around there. I have been to my dealership twice because the link stopped working and both time was because of internal electrial failure. But the last time they replaced mine, they told me I now have the updated version of it. I don't know if that fixed the problem with not being able to use itune7 with it, because the original unti is not compatible with itune7 update. I'm too chicken to update my ipod and itune to find out, so my ipod and itune is still the previous version before itune7.

Well they still selling music link at the moment, maybe they fixed everything?

My Ipod is full of legit music, I havent downloaded the thing Honda gave me on to my Ipod yet but you dont get song/album titles. You can only shuffle without that program too.
