Default Radiator fan problems

What is the reason that my radiator fans would constantly run? Like as soon as I turn the key to the ACC position, they come on. As soon as I start the car, they come on. During this time, they never shut off until I turn the car off. Any ideas?

your fan may have been hard wired into the ignition system to run like that on purpose. it was a common misconception among american motor-heads for a very long time that wiring an electric fan to always be on would allow a car to run cooler.. . .
i had a camaro like that - durned thing always overheated.
there's also a relay and some temperature sending units that someone may have not wanted to replace, so they may have just hooked it up to run when the car's on - i'd suggest tracing some wiring to see whats really going on

I'll look at it. That's actually a pretty good idea, never thought of that. Thanks man.
