I have been looking for some time at which bike Im going to pick up and finally went to the Harley dealer today to look at a Buell which I really didnt feel so hot for at first while my dad was trying to talk me into at least going to look at one (i was pretty set on a 600rr). My dad sold his cyclone and is picking up a Firebolt xb12, so I figured I would go along and damn near fell in love with the lightning xb9. I pretty much like everything about it, nice trq numbers...fits me almost perfect sizewise, and looks bad ***. But I never personally rode a buell. If anyone has one how do you like? Any input at all on them?
check out all the magazine's reviews of bikes. Sport rider says that the xb9 feels like it's resisting you while steering and that the engine feels slow.
It's not a sport bike motor, so it doesn't have lightened internals and high revving. This means when you're downshifting it's going to take longer for those RPMs to drop.
I personally would never buy a buell as long as they're powered by Harley. I just don't trust Harley's, and i don't like their prices for what you get out of it.
If it's a first bike i think the torque will make it touchier for a beginner. Inline 4s have a smoother rev band and are a lot more forgiving down low for making mistakes.
In the end it's your bike, get what you want.
