RSR exhaust?
The old RSR exhausts were good. Probably the only thing quieter was the Mugen Twinloop.
2.25" inner diameter. Nice exhaust.

You can still get the RS*R exhaust, although I don't know about the ITR. My friend just ordered one for his GS-R though. I originally found the thread in the Best Buy forum but I can't find it now. I'll see what I can find out.
i used to have an RS*R on my ls...i liked the sound a lot, but its really no difference in power between any other exhaust...and it doesn't really matter for at type R since the piping is only a tiny bit bigger than stock...for an R, if you get an exhaust its basically just about sound, not so much power
they didn't make RS*R's for type R's, but i'm sure a GSR one would fit...if not you could take it to a exhaust shop and have them fit it for pretty cheap...but like i said, you'd be paying a lot of money for basically a different exhaust tone...and the right to brag to everyone you have an RS*R

I could get an old style RSR exhaust for about $75-$100. Modifiying it to fit would be easy at a shop. It was made for a eg sedan so the piping is a little long.

the Skunk2 Exhaust is made by Invidia who is contracted by RSR to make their exhausts. The original RSR exhausts were nice. I've driven a GSR with the Skunk2, not too shabby over the stock but it is loud, its deep and its somewhat annoying if you're trying to have a decent conversation over the phone cruising on the highway or late at night. The older RSR exhausts were very quiet and i must agree, the only thing that comes close to this exhaust sound wise, is the Twin loop. I love the original ones cause they're so quiet and it still gives a bark when VTEC hits, not like the racing medalions or any other of those loud exhausts out there.

actually one reason why the rsr is so quiet is because the resonator is 2". I didn't know this until I took mine off to sell and then looked inside the b-pipe. I had problems with it banging against the d-bracket for my swarbar
The rsr is only audible around midrange...after that all you hear is the motor. Other than that...best sounding exhaust i've ever heard next to the Twinloop.
