2 shades of Fiji Blue Pearl B529P-4 (darker and lighter shade)
I've purchased a grill for my 2007 Fiji Blue Pearl civic si coupe. I need to get it painted to match the body color. I've provided the paint code to the guy who is painting my grill. I obtained this paint code from the side of my driver's side door. The paint code is B529P-4. However the guy who is painting my grill contacted me and told me that there are TWO paint codes under the name of "Fiji Blue Pearl" from Honda and they are both "B529P-4"!!! One of them is a darker shade and the other one is a lighter shade.
I'm aware that the 2005 civic coupe also come in Fiji Blue Pearl. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a 2005 FBP civic coupe around my area and park next to it to compare colors. And a lot of the times pictures can't do justice when it comes down to finding the correct color. So my question is does anyone here know for sure which color is the darker shade and which is the lighter shade? I need to know ASAP! Thanks for your help!!

It's just a variance, sometimes the same code can have 15 different formulas. You'll need to have a color chip book and figure out which formula you need.

I had my body kit painted for my 07 civic si (fiji blue) and only one paint code came up.. I can call and find out what the code was if u want.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yes there is only one paint code, but there can be tons of different variant colors, like darker, lighter, more red, finer metallic, coarser metallic etc... One paint code, but there can be several different formulas. The formulas are what the paint companies come up with, like DuPont, PPG, Sherwin-Williams etc... For a grille I would just tell him to go with the standard color or the "popular color", because it's just a grille, you won't be able to tell the difference.

Ok so you used the paint code that is located in your 2007 Si's door jamb correct? If you did, that is your paint code. It's most likely the same paint code as the 05's, just like all the B92P's are the same and all the B92P-A's are the same. There is probably just a variant in the color. There also should be a popular color, or a standard color for that paint code. You are just painting the grille, tell him to go with the standard or if you are that worried find a paint chip book and see which formula you will need to use. It's not like you are trying to panel paint a door or the hood.
