Default Del Sol radiator in CRX, anyone done this B4? Hassles, fitting?

I am planning on getting a new radiator today or tomorrow. I have narrowed it down to either a stock 90 CRX SI radiator, or a 95 Del Sol radiator. The Del Sol is taller, and I am not sure it will fit correctly, even if I do make brackets. I want to get it cuz it will open 1/2 of my grill for cold air flowing in to my header to cool down everything, and will allow more flow though my engine compartment. It's about $30 cheaper than a stock one for my CRX ,and I think it might be worth the trouble of making a bracket for it...plus it just looks cool in there. Has anyone stuck one in there before, and what model Del Sol did you use (VTEC, or just M/T non-vtec?). Any other pros/cons to this, and how much of a PITA is it to make it secure?

I had a 92 Civic halfy rad in my 88 crx for about a week - but the hood wouldn't close cuz the rad sat about an inch too high. - but that was because the feet of the radiator didn't fit into the holes of the crossmember as they're supposed to. So it mite just fit if you modified it a bit?

I have the 94 EX half width radiator in my CRX. This is not a mod for the faint of heart. You have to remove all the mounting pegs, grind the petcock flat, and cut out some metal from the under side of the hood. After all that, I still had to space the hood latch out with some washers and it barely closes.

I ended up going with the Place Racing crossmember for more room.

After all that, I'm getting rid of that radiator and getting a Fluidyne. I race, and that little radiator is not sufficient for racing in hot weather.

Bottom line, it can be done, but its work.

can you describe the place racing front mount? i need to know the dimensions of the tubing for the front crossmember, and the mounting plates on the sides. what motor mounts do you have in addition to the place front? thanks.

Yeah, I work at Sorrento Auto Parts. What library do you work at, and where is it? The closest one I know of is W.T. Bland (Mt. Dora), and then the Tavares one...

Look into a 1st Gen Neon radiator...it was posted a little while ago so the search function might work for it. Supposed to fit in like flynn.
