Heres the story......
I made an appointment 3 days ago to have the dealer look at my gas pedal which clicks, and to check on my 3rd gear tranny grind etc.
I go in and sign all the necessary paperwork this morning. Get all the BS small talk out of the way. The adviser tells me they will call me when my car is ready and it will probably be about 1.5 days.
I say "no problem, take your time."
I then proceed to ask about a loaner car since this will not be a 1-3 hr service. The adviser states that Honda does not offer loaner cars unless you have an extended warranty. He then tries to sell me it blah blah blah.
At this point im amazed about this since i have never had this happen. He told me I could pay for a rental. I LOL'd because I thought he was joking with me. I told him the car was bought Dec 22nd 2006 and it has 8k miles and that I would never pay for anything on a car that new.
At this point the service manager is looking at me kinda pissed off. So I repeated I couldn't leave the car for service because I need a vehicle to get around in. The adviser then gave me back my keys and said nothing. They didn't offer to reschedule or anything.
I called Honda corporate and they told me the same thing. They said almost all dealers have loaners but there are a few who don't.
I just cant believe this, since I have never heard of any dealer of any make not handing out a loaner to a brand new vehicle getting warranty work.
Sorry for the rant.

Sorry its not good enough for you. Its got me pissed off enough since I thought my problems were going to be fixed, but they never even got to touch the vehicle.

We have the authority to cover a rental for someone who is getting extended warranty work done ( more than 2 hours) or who is having a crapload of accessories (that was included in deal) installed on a car they bought.
Sucks to hear that you didnt get taken care of, i really thought from the title that someone actually was gonna brag about a great service experience as opposed to everyone ranting about a bad one.

I feel you man, I went through a similar ordeal with my brand new '07 Si which had under 2k miles on it when I brought it in just a couple weeks ago. They didn't have loaners also but said that if I REALLY needed it I could call them in advance and they could schedule a rental car to be there for me, but they made it sound like it was such a huge hassle for them.
Instead I told them I would wait for them to take care of the couple small problems that I had and they told me ahead of time thats fine and that it would take 1 hr - 1.5 hr.'s. My car ended up sitting exactly where I parked it out front for over an 1.5 hr.'s and the best part is I overheard the service guys saying they were surprised how slow of a day it was for them.
When it was all said and done I ended up patiently waiting there for over 3 hr.'s, and to top it off they didn't fix any of my problems. So far I am not impressed by my Honda Dealers customer Service at all. At this point I don't know if I will ever be bringing my car back there.

Wow, I thought this was going to be a 'good' experience from the stealership. I guess not. Seems like all Honda stealerships are out to screw you up or rip you off.

I've seen plenty of loaner cars at the Honda/Acura dealers around where I live. I worked at Nissan and they had loaners also. And even a shuttle driver! lol.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I have the extended warranty and from what they have told me they would hook me up with some sort of rental whether its Enterprise or something else if my car has to stay there over night. But I didn't want my car to stay overnight for the small problems I was having.
But the Honda dealership I purchased my car from doesn't actually have Honda Loaners. Figures Princeton Honda does, although you end up paying for that if you know what I mean (inflated prices, just like everything else in Princeton, NJ)
My last car was a GSR and I came to know the guys at my local Acura dealership and they would give me a loaner and I didn't even buy my car there. All Acura dealerships that I know of have loaner TSX's
From what I can tell it just depends on the dealership. Some Honda dealerships have loaners and from what it sounds like most don't but will offer you a rental car.

Wow, sorry you had a bad experience.
I guess I should be happy. My dealer has always taken good care me. They do not have loaners either, but had Enterprise Rent A Car, right there at the dealership. Although they never offered me a rental car without me asking, they did pay for one when some repairs were going to take longer than expected, and I needed a car to pick-up my son. On top of that, they gave me a free oil and filter change for the inconvenience.
Both the service manager and service adviser were really nice and made the entire experience as pleasant as it could be.

My salesperson is still real helpful but the service guys suck. My belts were slipping, they didnt fix it then told me I need to learn more about cars, went back last week and took the head service guy for a ride and it was slipping and he told me there was nothing he could do because they were at the factory tightness already, I have a vibration in my door, a click/tick from my dash, the list goes on.

Yes, your right. I am not smart enough to know the difference between old oil and new oil, when I look at the dipstick.
Why do I feel the term "dipstick" has a 2nd meaning in responding to your post?
