On your insurance slips, what is the descrption of your R? Reason i ask is because mine actually says: 1997 Integra GS 2DR. I called and inquire with my insurance company and they are saying that is the model they pulled with the VIN i supplied. I find it strange how a R will be pulled up as a GS. Is this normal?

Recheck that vin and insure with another company, you don't want to be reinmbursed for a GS if it gets stolen

Thanks guys. I had a local Acura dealer run the vin......it came up as a 97 ITR. I called my insurance already and informed them and they took note regarding the cost/model of the car. They will be mailing me a statement indicating that i have filed this claim in the case the car does get stolen.
I have the same issue with my insurance company. I have a 1997 Acura Integra Type R, but the Insurance company ran my VIN # and got 1997 Acura Integra GS 2dr.
I will have to get this adjusted as well.

Ok I talked to my insurance company they faxed me over a copy of my insurance declaration. It does state that my ins. co. is indeed insuring a 2001 Acura Integra Type R. To the OP thanks for the heads up. It only took minutes to double check.
Funny this just came up. I was on the phone with my Ins. agent earlier and I have now a "value stated" policy. I basically told them what I wanted if anything should happen. I'm currently stated at 28k if my car were to disappear. IMO this is the only route to go for a DD ITR.
You might want to look into that.

how much more are you paying with "value stated" then your normal policy?

hey peeps makes sure it say Type R on your insurance, because you might be just paying for GS-R or LS rates for the insurance instead of the insane amount they charge to protect our babies!

hahah.... true that. I'm pretty sure that mine is correct though, because my wife owns an '07 CRV EX-L with navi, and my '01 ITR is like 300 more in the 6 months than the CRV. And my '98 GSR is waaay cheaper than both other cars.
So, I'm thinking that they have me down right in their books. Now the tricky thing is getting them to pay to replace the JDM front if anything happens..........
(I have it on the policy as having a USDM BMW HID headlight conversion.... so hopefully if anything happens, they'd at least have to fork out the money for BMW HID's, and I'm thinking that the cost of those bad boys from BMW would at least cover the cost to replace my front end if anything happened. Anyone else worry about this stuff?)

this happened to me as well. they somehow input a 9 where the 1 in dc231 was and they were insuring me for a gsr. i wonder if it was an honest mistake.

mine said Integra Type R...for insurance it's either "Integra Type R" or "Integra Not Type R" when I did quotes...having an ITR adds like $25-30/month on top of regular integra rates for me...
