Theft???
So i'm buying a '07 civic Si, and i'm wondering how they are rated theft wise. Are they easy to steal...do I need to get an after market alarm right away, or can I wait and get one later....any help would be great, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
LSD is a hot commodity...
weirdly i think due to how hard they were to obtain.. alot of people still haven't seen them.... including thieves
as they become more "commonplace" the theft rate will be astronomical on them
Regardless of immobilizer etc etc
flatbed > us

This is true, but I like to think that I live in a rural community and this wouldn't be a problem. Hell, most of the people in my neighborhood dont' even lock their doors at night, and I'm glad I'm lucky enough to live in an area like this.
However what about aftermarket parts? Lets say your car gets stolen, and you have expensive wheels, coilovers, aftermarket head unit, etc... are you out of that money or will insurance cover it? Would insurance make you produce reciepts in this event or what? The more money I put into my car, the more concerned I become...

Add coverage to your policy.

Even if you ad a clause to your insurance policy for after market parts...they will only give you the depreciated value of them.

i thought it was safe to wait a while before getting an alarm....but i got broken into i guess it depends where u live im 5 min from jersey city and about 15 min from newark...not a good place to own a honda :-( get an alarm with a pager so u know when someone is breaking into u`r car audio alarms arnt enough anymore i dont think...people just dont care anymore to call the cops if they hear an alarm going off....(my 2 cents)

Hondas and theft go hand in hand.
Get a pager alarm and a lojack. Really not much more you can do after that. At least with the lojack you'll have a better chance of recovering it before thieves strip it.

Seems to be the method of choice for boosting cars in SoCal.
Alarms don't really help either. Just don't park your car in the street; or where there's nobody around

The hicks around me would rather steal a Camaro then my car.

Unfortunately you are right. However, if your pager goes off, all you can do is call the cops. By the time they get there, your car is gone anyways. I know I'm not going to go try to stop some idiot from trying to steal my car. As much as I love it, losing my life or being seriously injured over a car isn't worth it. It's terrible that theft rate is a deterant from purchasing certain vehicles.

werd. i think your best bet is lo jack. cops can track them. i think it was 500 + 150 for activation on mines.
