Blew my ITR engine, now what?
I just mis-shifted my ITR from 3rd gear to 2 instead of 4 at the red line and pretty much instantly blew my engine. This sucks because I did it myself to my own car and I know it and there's nothing I can say about it to justify it. It's really put my down these past few days.
I'm trying to come out of my depression by looking at the bright side. I guess with a full engine rebuild in site, there's a bunch of options that I could take. At first I am really tempted to simply rebuild the engine back to stock to keep the "ITR-ness" of the car. Or I could take the opportunity to go bigger bore, stronger pistons.. other good stuff. But, I dont know that much about that stuff. I just got the car a few months ago.
You guys out there know a lot more than me. What would you do in my situation? Prior to yesterday, the car was in good running conditition, only 30000 miles on it.

2nd is buddy, I even think that, that is the gear that get most abused on. 3rd is probably the one that starts to grind after a bit, because of people taking a short cut when shifting.

Anyone can mis-shift.

95-100% leakdown all clyinders - head is now off and there is no PTV contact or chamber damage. Most of the exhaust vavles are bent and a few intakes. Will update you guys when the customer make his mind up on what he wants us to do.

Right... If You've ever driven your car (or cars) hard enough and over a long enough period of time... you've screwed up somewhere along the line.
