Default A possible solution to stolen B-series blocks/heads...

If you really think about it...why doesn't someone come up with brand new aftermarket castings? Or even Honda could offer them.

I know you can order 350 V8 blocks from several manufacturers, including GM.

I know Edelbrock is working on aftermarket B16A heads.

Now if only someone would offer a complete B18 VTEC or B20 VTEC longblock for a reasonable price...

problem is cost...

even if they could offer it for 2000, im sure most the hybriders would still go for the cheap 1000 b18c5.

"hot" items are usually cheap since the person selling or the theif is looking to unload them fast and without too many questions.

its funny how the import scene, full of wanna be gansta's and ghettofied punks have such a problem with theft of vehicles. the american cars out there, mustangs, camaros, trans am's, all could have very similar problems with theft and swapping motors, yet they dont. or atleast you dont really hear about it. i wonder why? It would be just as easy to jack a cobra, and throw it into a non cobra mustang, yet you dont hear about that happening. weird.
thumbs up to the hillbillies out there that respect other peoples ****(american ****, because we all know they still hate our import **** no matter what haha) rather than scoping it out and jacking it. just a thought.

I would think there would be tons of GSR and prelude motors in the junk yards. They've been around forever, and sold tons of both.

All you would have to do, is a light rebuild, take the head to the machine shop, get them to mill it while its there to raise compression, put some cams in it, and it would have just as much power. Thats what I would do.

Actually, it's not that American cars never got stolen, it's just that muscle car engine swaps are no longer commonplace as they once were. Any stunna/gangsta wannabe with a flip up visor can buy an $1800 '92 Civic CX with their taco bell wages and have one of their "homies" steal a GSR or ITR for them. And then do a complete swap over for minimal cash outlay. Trust me, in the 80's and early 90's Mustang 5.0's and Buick Grand Nationals were THE MOST STOLEN CARS!
