2k is not a brand, 2k means its solvent based. in the past ive always used matched brands when working on a car. if you plan on using a certain brand of paint down the road id use the same brand of primer now.

in the world of paint you get what you pay for. my advice would be to spend a little money and get a reputable brand such as dupont or sikkens or a name of that caliber. check out your yellow pages and look under automotive refinishing...you should find companies that are dealers for certain refinishing brands and just give them a call. they should be able to tell you exactly what you need and what to expect with what brand. hopefully this helps you a little.
