From: ITR owner... round three
I stumbled across a nice article on the unattainable new CTR with some pretty sweet photos. If this is a re-post I'll apologize in advance with my deepest concern (
), but just in case some of you guys haven't seen it, it's worth checking out.

This car bothers me on so many levels, but I wont get into it. One thing I will say though is those 18" ricer wheels gotta go.
Until I see some footage of that car vs. the DC2 R, the DC2 is still my vote for the quickest R (sans NSX-R).
However, props to Honda for bringing us a worthy succesor. Can't argue with the numbers!
oh ... repost btw

Wow this thing might have some great potential. 4-door practicality + Honda of Japan Type-R engineering + reasonable price =

That way I can scare three other people, in addition to myself, on the track.

Let's get into it...it is a discussion forum last time I checked.... I for one think the 18s are great. Not just from a aesthetic point of view, but even for performance. Sure they might be heavier, but they do house the equally effective Brembos.
This car would destroy the DC2-R on track stock for stock. JDM version vs. JDM version.

It looks like it's the first decent effort from Honda in years.

Same here. It's time for another R in the States and I really want to test this thing out.. sure I'd have to have it.

Well seing as how the DC2 is basically a car that was engineered in the early 90's I would expect a 4 door Civic built 13 years later To outhandle, outperform the DC2R in every aspect. If it didn't then Honda would be a sad company indeed.
I don't think this new R will give anywhere near the driving enjoyment of the DC2R, but hey I like my race cars raw.

One thing is for sure though, Us Australians have no hope of getting anymore raw honda's.

Honda Australia says the 2007 Civic Type R it will launch in July is "more civilised, more practical and more comfortable" than its previous performance coupes and hatches.
Honda believes "buyers are starting to turn away from the stripped-out boy-racer style of vehicle", and instead are looking for a more polished performance package priced around $40,000
