Jim at PIC (Power In Control) gets top marks from me. Two weeks ago I call telling him that my rear shocks are on the way out (on my 8 year old set of Zeals). He informs me that he will be in Canada in the beginning of May and offers to bring me up a set of his Select coil overs.
Well today Jim came through and hand delivered the goods. This guy went out of his way to do this for me and I can’t believe how great this all turned out. If you’re reading this, thanks again!
Anyway, I just thought I would share this with you peeps because it isn’t everyday you encounter this level of service.
The spring rates are 12kF and 14kR (this should be fun...) of course I had to take some pics.

It's very rare to see that level of customer service. Good on PIC for going above and beyond.
Now you just have to tell us how those things fare on the track. I've seen a sudden surge of users on this site using these coilovers, which reminds me of when Omnipower came out. I'm anxious to hear of any potential problems with these units before I make my decision. Omni had their reliability issues, and I'm sure PIC will as well. Only time will tell what those issues might be.
Now go to Expo and beat the crap out of those things and tell us how they were, Doug!

I just got the same setup recently. bumpy/rough roads are no problem which I was surprised about and most worried about with such high spring rates before I made the purchase.
the only problem I have (maybe its just me) is when on a highway some of the quick little rolls and sways in the road will tend to bounce around a bit too much for me. almost as if the springs are abit too stiff for the damper on the rebound.
I let some air out of my tires and it seems to have helped somewhat. it doesnt bounce for a long time, just really quick short boings and makes the back of the car feel like its about to skip around the road behind you lol.
I was cruising the other day around 80mph on the highway and came across a transition in the road where the highway met an overpass and I swear I caught some air lol. ive messed around with damper settings and havent really able to get it to stop doing that. its hard to explain it but Im sure youll see what I mean.
Im actually gonna see if I can get a spare set of less rigid springs only and swap them in to see how that feels on the street.

Lol I can so relate to this. Especially when I'm on the highway and I hit a transition.

Thanks for the insight! I too was concerned about the high spring rates in the rear. Your comments do calm this fear… I just finished installing them and will get a chance to test them out tomorrow.
Of course they will be properly scaled in but that will have to wait a few days.

yeah same rates on my daily R with Tein ra's, makes the car feel super nimble and roads throw it around like a rag doll. turn in is sooo awesome with stiffer rear though

Well just went for my first drive with these… WOW!
These PIC parts definitely deserve high praise. The car is much more nimble thanks to the increased spring rates; however, the ride is actually much smoother because of the superior valving of the shocks. Yes my old Zeals were tired but they never felt this good… The car is still VERY streetable in my opinion.
In the corners the car is FLAT and feels very well behaved. You can “feel” the rear end helping you through the corner (and not simply along for the ride) but it doesn’t feel like it wants to simply step out and ruin everything. Throttle management will clearly be more sensitive now but that is a desirable. Turn in is very responsive.
I can’t wait to fully explore the envelope with these now. I’m sure they are going to put some big smiles on my face.
Again.... Top marks for Jim and the guys at PIC!

I feel the same way
There is a really nice exit ramp near me that lets you play with the throttle a bit and the difference between my old tired stock shocks/H&R spring setup, and the new PICs, is night and day. Even with the turbo setup I can get the car to rotate more or less depending on throttle inputs. The car definitely feels flat through the turns as well, a huge difference from my old setup.
Did you hit the highway yet? How low did you set the coilovers at? And what damper setting are you using right now?

You hit the nail on the head there!!! And that's exactly why I'll stay with them and not venture elsewhere. Their CS is top notch.
Hell, last year they brought my setup to Expo for me. Hand delivered the same as yours. The guys are easy to talk to, and don't just blow you off.
I'll be getting a set of Selects for mah new car soon. And then another set after that for another project. This will be 4 sets for me.

Why... the same place you got the coilovers.

Nothing above 60MPH yet but I'll have a chance later tonight to see how they behave at higher speeds.
I kept the drop the same as the Zeals (I'll remeasure tonight now that the shocks have settled a little), you can see in the pictures of my car how low I'm riding (about 2 finger gap).
This morning I ran with the shocks set to 2 in the front and 1 in the rear.

thats about the ride height Im at, maybe a little lower in the front. I think I have mine at 3f/2r right now. I may raise it up some and see if that makes a difference in the bouncing on the highway to give it a little more suspension travel.

I've had mine over 130 on track and have had 0 issues with them. I feel they are very well behaved on track and you guys are right, even Andy commented on how flat my car was in the corners.
yeah thats probably one thing that would help me too, i slammed my car. I was looking at going down to the regular PICs since im sick of the Ra's, expecially at those rates and a car that isnt tracked. anyone tried the non-selects?

I'll dig around and see if I can find anything. I just lowered it more for CMP. It's... LOW. If you measure from the "jacking plates" front and rear, I'm at 4.5" all the way around. (well, 1/8" higher in rear cause I couldn't get it lower)
