Default instrument lights

So, I've gotten the honda on the road, since I broke the Jeep I figured maybe I should fix it.

I repaired the FITV and adjusted the TPS to solve the cold start issue, much thanks to the FAQ thread for that!

SO, I was doing all the mandatory light checks and I've come up with no instrument lights. The HVAC controls and the radio light up, and they respond to the dimmer switch.
I've gotten as far as removing trim piece around the cluster, but I can't get the cluster out, and I don't want to break the mount tabs. This is the frist honda dash I've ver been into, so I'm not familiar with how tey secure things.
I've removed the 2 screws from the face of the cluster, and I've removed the two screws from the rear of it in the top of the dash. On to the questions:
Do I just pull it out? Am I missing a fastener somewhere, I pulled on it a bit and it really feels like it's still secured somehow.

Regarding the lamps. The tail lights work, the fuse isn't popping and the HVAC stuff is lit, so I assume it's a broken circuit in the cluster itself. What color wire feeds the cluster lamps? I can't find that info searching.

All of this is taking place on a 91 Civic DX sedan, with the bone stock cluster, no tach.
Thanks.

It's really hard to see in this picture, maybe you can blow it up in photoshop or something. But it has the fastener locations.

It sounds like you've got all the fasteners out. I dont recall any pop tabs on my bezel, I think it just slid out.

Typically the 12V feed wires on hondas are yellow with a black stripe. Maybe the bulbs are burned out? Are any of the lights coming on? Like ebrake indicator, check engine light, turn signals?

thanks slurp. I thought that I had the fasteners out, just didn't want to break it.
I also just figured out the search feature and found some threads.

All of the idiot lights work properly, all of the guages work properly, just the cluster lights.

I'm thinking it's in the connector to the cluster, or the circuit trace is broken on the back of the cluster, but that should be an easy enough repair.

well, I got the cluster out last night. I have voltage to the cluster, so it must be a broken trace inside, I'm thinking most likely next to the connecto since all of the bulbs are out.
I'll be repairing the circuit this weekend with the soldering iron and some jumper wires.

well, my day job involves component repair on circuit boards, so an instrument cluster should be cake.

If you hotwired yours to 12v and it still didn't work I'd look into a grounding issue.
I've not yet studied the wiring schematics for these little beasts yet. My primary money pit/maintenance ***** is a 20 year old jeep I abuse pretty regularly.

Working on the honda sure is a lot different than working on the heep, that's for sure. I had to get smaller hammers for the Honda
