Default 04 vs. 03?

is the ap2 really watered down compared to the ap1?

other than looks, are there performance differences that will make you hate/love each model?

you really need to search on this.

it makes me laugh when people mention 'watered-down'. i hear this from a lot of ap1 owners, that have never owned/driven both. i had an ap1 for almost 2 years, it was a great car and very raw. however, i was lusting after the ap2 so much after about a year of owning the ap1. to this day, i havent noticed anything darastic in the changes from ap1 to ap2. they are both great cars. you can say the ap2 is more watered down, but stock for stock, the ap2 does run a slight better track time.

I have also owned both. I find the AP2 far better. More usable torque and the power is just fine. The ride is just as "raw" on both of them. I have an 07, so maybe it's different than the first "generation AP2's, but I doubt it.

I like the little things they added to the newer S2K.

theres no big difference. i'd assume for most consumers price point would be he main reason for choosing one over the other.

Do these threads seriously keep coming up? hahha...id have thought (given the AP2 has been out for years now) that these "better than" threads would have long died off. I personally think the AP2 LOOKS better cosmetically, the small enhancements modernized it a bit over the AP1...mechanically, they are like two near flawless diamonds...i say near flawless because of my love for my Z4 lol.

AP2 4 Lyfe Nukkas...lmao.

They did not change the engine anywhere else. THE TAIL ON THE AP2 IS SOFTER (NOT AS STIFF AS AN AP1) AP1'S WILL LOOSE THEIR TAIL END MORE EASILY. AP2'S ARE ON BIGGER HEAVIER WHEELS SO THAT 8 FT LBS OF EXTRA TORQUE IS ALREADY TAKEN. AP2'S ARE DBW WHICH IS BETTER ON THROTTLE RESPONSE. THEY ARE BOTH BADASS.. wow, so you seriously think that the ap2's torque just goes away cause of the bigger wheels? you really dont sound like you know what your talking about. also, not all ap2's are DBW, only 06/07, not 04/05. yes, the springs in the rear are softer on the ap2, but the ap2 has stiffer front springs. as for ap2's being more comfortable on long hauls....negative. i've done numerous trips from southern virginia to chicago(920 miles one way) in an ap1 and an ap2, and i have not noticed a difference....they are both uncomfortable as hell!

1. more torque cuz it has more displacement...

2. DBW lag the throttle responds...

3. japan has 2.2

4. you are a fool

5. go lick your own ***

and that comes from AP1 guy

buddy,

I own an Ap1.

I have driven both, and am completly bias towards Ap1's, I think they are much more thrilling to drive.

But, for one....you are wrong on the fact that Japan still "rocks" the F20c. they don't. they switched in 2005.

And two, you make me almost ashamed to own an Ap1 now. Please leave.

I can see why you were banned, no offence.

I've owned an ap1 now I own an ap2.. Honestly, it feels the same. Watered down?
No way, still a raw sporty feeling. I prefer
the ap2 because of the extra tq which
makes daily driving easier..

i have no idea how 9 more lbs of torque is going to make daily driving that much better either.

yeah haha you guys are so right.. 9lb of tq wouldn't do much

What I meant is that, I don't have to rev as high to get the car going. Before when I had the ap1, I normally have to rev to about 4.5k to keep the car up with normal traffic. Now, I only have to rev to 3k to get it going.

I throw in my two cents and I get flamed.
