New brakes tomorrow!
So tomorrow I am putting new shoes on my car. I was going to change the W/C but I don't think that is needed. I am putting metallic shoes on. Mid grade (I am not a racer these should be fine) and then I am probably going with some straight Brembo rotors with Ceramic premium pads for the front.
Anything I should know that will make this go smoothly?
I am getting brembo rotors because they are the same cost as the premium NAPA rotors (I work at NAPA so basically it is the same cost for me) and I am going with ceramic pads because I am a big fan of doing stuff right the first time.
Once again... Anything I should know? I am bleeding out the whole system too! Thanks! I will post up some pictures and stuff, maybe make a write up for the noobs.

you shouldnt need to bleed the system with those modifications, although it is always good to have a clean system. i hate bleeding brakes so i only do it when i have to.
you may check out hawk hps pads.. i run them on the street and i am really happy with them. definitely go with the brembo blanks though.. no better rotors on the market IMHO.

Yeah, since the brembo blanks are the same price for me I wanna go with those. I dunno how much the hawk pads are but the premium NAPA pads by United are Ceramic material... Pretty spendy, and since my car is pretty much stock I don't really need anything out of this world. These should still be pretty nice. I just wanna be able to stop really well without brake fade. I get brake fade in everyday traffic with my current pads and warped rotors. I don't need slotted or drilled rotors and would probably prefer not to have them anyway.
My brake fluid in my system is pretty much dark brown. I have to flush it out, it is just really bad. Trust me, I hate it too. Last time I bled my brake and I had a busted bleeder screw problem.
Thanks for the reply.

hawk pads are about $70ish for a front set. I live in colorado, so brake fade is something i am well acquainted with. I really like hawk hps pads because i can be in the crappiest traffic coming down from the mountains and i dont get brake fade at all, even when im on them quite often. i will definitely buy them again.
sounds like it is time to bleed your brakes. harbor freight has a cheap brake bleeding system you should look into to make the process a little less painful.

the aem pads are awesome too. they are like 45-50.
i had brembos and aem pads and this last time i switched to cheapy rotors and havent noticed a difference at all. and i drive even more now.
bleed bleed bleed. i bled and still seem to have a small bit of air. so i'm doing it again on thursday

Well I am pretty much going to stick the Ceramic NAPA brand pads. I am pretty sure they are made by Wagner. They should be all good. I hate bleeding brakes but me and my friend have done it before so we should be able to get it all going good.
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
don't forget to lube the part on the top of the caliper opposite of the bolt that you take out. can't remember what it's called.. its where the caliper pivots after you remove the other bolt. if you don't keep this part lubed your caliper can seize up (happened to me before, had to buy a new caliper!)
