Default suspension experts! help needed!

Well, I have talked about it before, but after 6 hours of drive this weekend, I'm thinking about how to fix this.

Problem: Well I haven't drove many small cars such as civic, I drove many mid size cars. And the one difference I'm most concerned with is why is my civic ex seems to not absorb the bumps on the road as well as mid-sizes. I can tell you personally, I think mid-size cars are way... way... better in absorbing the shocks on the road than my civic ex... But I refuse to accept that they are BETTER than my ex!! I need help fixing this asap. Currently I have 16 wheels I think, and suspension is stock for ex/navi.

Possible solution: Well I know there is the option to upgrade to HFP suspension and 18'' wheels. I wanted to know right now if that is going to fix my problem. Which is making my ride comparable to mid-size's suspension. I hate it when I go over a speed bump in front of my APT, my upper body shakes left and right just because it's civic... With something like Sonata from Hundai or whatever, it seems it's like nothing!! what the heck! why is my ex losing to some stupid korean car! I need this fixed! My ex is way cooler than those mid-sizes!@#!

Please help! lol

HFP sus is more firm than your stock EX sus and the 18" wheels will only allow thinner tires which = even more firm.

. upgrading to HFP suspension and 18" is just gonna make your ride even bumpier.

i think your just gonna have to get used to the bumpy ride. midsize sedans are meant to be more shock absorbing the our civics, even the ex. the ex is a little bumpy but it is definetly bearable IMO.

as for the shaking left to right that you experience over bumps (never experienced this in my ex) your best bet would be to put on an h-brace i believe. try corsportusa for it. i believe its $65. that should help a little.

there is a difference between si suspension and hfp suspension? All your Si owners, does your si feels like a mid-size? I feel much better that all ex are like mine, but still I want to make it better if I could.

you have a civic not an accord. your car isn't supposed to feel like a mid size car and won't handle bumps like a mid size car.

the hfp suspension will just make your ride even worse because it's stiffer.

trade it in if you hate it so much.

Thats the way your car feels etc. Its not supposed to be big and cushy. Its marketed as a small compact with a little sportiness to it. You cant expect a suspension such as the HFP which will lower your car could actually make it cushier over bumps.

i think that your use of exclamation marks in your original post is leading some people to believe that you hate your ex a lot. just watch your use of exclamation marks.

I thought that was supposed to show how much I loved my car lol. Anyway will the HFP suspension and bigger wheels do the trick or make it even worse?

Did you read my post?????

It will make it 10x worse.

A lowered suspension and thinner tires make a stiffer ride.

little tip.. tires with bigger sidewalls act like big cushy shock absorbers. I think I may end up with 16's on my SI for just that reason.

Throw some RSX 16s on the car and call it good. There is really nothing else you can do.

I bought my Si and suspension for performance, NOT comfort. If I wanted comfort I'd be rocking a CL, TL, or TSX.
