Canadians!!! Swaping EF8 JDM front headlights for USDM ones?
I did a search on this topic - both archive and recent - and was quite surprised to find zilch!
We all know that JDM headlights point towards incoming traffic when used over here in Canada (a blatent hastle for both users and other drivers), and i think its illegal to run with them on your car. So have any Canadians (or Americans) with an EF8 SiR sucsessfully swaped your JDM lights for USDM ones?
And just what exactly does the law have to say about this? I think you need to have DOT or SAE approved lights on your car to make it road legal? Am i right?

It's true that jdm headlights face into oncoming traffic. Easiest fix, buy some from Europe! The have left hand drive 1.6i (zc) and VT (sir) equivailants. Actually they are better, thay are glass and don't disscolour, and they use real H4 bulbs, not that H4H crap.
No not a dumb question at all, the reason they point towards oncoming trafic over here is because over there they are built to shine down and away from oncoming trafic so as not to dazzle oncoming motorists and also to give the driver a good view of potential hazards (ie road debris, animals runing out from verge etc) on the shoulder of the road.

In Canada we drive on the right side of the road so the lights are to put into the ride side of the road away from traffic.
In Japan its opposite.

I know those are the stock fitting ones for usd cars, thats why i posted it. They still are glass and use the H4 system. If you looked through his other auctions, he has the VT ones also.
I myself have the stock fitting ones off of a 1.6i for my ZC front end, and mine are the full height adjustable models!
