95 Lude idling at 1200 rpm after radiator swap
I just had to replace my radiator, and after bleeding the coolant (twice), I cannot get it to idle right. When cold it idles around 1800. After warming up, it varies. Sometimes it'll get as low as 1000, but usually stays around 1200-1300 rpm. It was not that long ago that it was fine staying around 700-800. I changed the FITV about a year ago because of a bouncing idle, but this has to be something simple being it's not consistent. Please advise if there is a different way to bleed the coolant. I used the bleeder valve by the thermostat. loosened it, poured water in until a continuous pour came out. tightened it, turned car on and kept adding water to the radiator through 2 fan cycles. closed radiator. Please let me know if you have any other info. about this. Thank you so much.
heres what i do
fill radiator to top
turn the car on with the cap off
keep the level of water up to the top
if the water starts overflowing because of the heat and pressure...put the cap back on
then bleed the bleeder with the car still on an you will almost always have a steady stream of water come out
turn car off..let cool...fill radiator to top

I read other forums about idle issues after bleeding my car for the 14th time. I unplugged the TPS sensor, no change. I unplugged the idle air control valve, and when I start the car, as soon as it catches (starts) the idle starts out around 1300 and doesn't change. When everything is plugged in and bled, I start it and it idles at 2k for about 10 seconds, and drops 100 rpm every few seconds until settling at ~1300rpm. I will check for vacuum leaks as soon as I get some carb cleaner. Any other suggestions? Thank you!
you might need to reset your manual idle. open idle adjustment screw untill car almost dies, disconnect IACV, shut car off. disconnect battery (reset computer). reconnect battery and then start car up, adjust your idle screw down to around 600-700 rpm, than reconnect IACV. car still might be fluctuating. so shut car off, wait untill car shuts down completely (10-15 seconds or so i think) than restart, your idle should sit at around 700 if done correctly and if car has no actual real problem. ( I think thats how i did it. it was a while ago and a lot of "tree's" later)
