well i just got all the kinks worked out on my swap, me and my buddy went trolling , and not one person even revved on me my car is way too sleeperish. its not fair. there was a 300z that started to race or at least he took off really fast at the light, and i didnt realize so then i floored it caught up next to him , he looked amazed and then he shutdown

I'm in the same boat you are in. I don't like stoplight racing too much but just every so often I would like someone to rev at me, just so my belief in my car would be renewed again. The pain of owning a sleeper, I guess

 

i dont have much of a problem, haha but now i dont have much of anything in my car yet so it doesn't help. I live right accross from NY so theres lots of ricers i'm itching to burn when my ish is done ohhhh man i cant wait to burn those damn ricers with their hoodlights and air intakes. i should stop talking and start working *big smiles* then i'll be back with some good stories

If you want people to race you, you have to add/do something to make it stand out a little.

Things that work--
POWERED BY: HONDA sticker
Rev on EVERYONE, and others will see, and they will pursue you.
Play your music loud so people hear you, and they will come.
Try to stop by auto performance stores, and just look for people pulling out of the driveway.

I could/can never find a car that I find interesting enough to race.. Just them IT-dorks in Golfs TDi's 110-130bhp (noticed that Golf has the letters of "Goofy" and "Mongol" in it?), which are litereally blown away by my SiR, further the occasionally Volvo droopies (noticed that Volvo drivers all suck ***? Either slow or a-social) or the wannabe's in Renault Laguna's or Ford Mondeo's..

All typical company-cars.... so I don't race anymore just drive faster then they do

hehe, I've had the same problem since my b16 swap was finished. It seems before I got picked on all the time though. So I threw some slipstreams on to attract some attention, but I'm thinking of going to the track on Friday to really see what this thing can do.

 

haha..i had a 1990 300zx twin turbo with huge HKS hipers on it..nobody had ***** enough to mess with it ..now that i have an 89 civic si nobody even cares

 

Supercivic, what made you get a honda civic after havin a twin turboed 300z? have you made the civic faster than the 300?

 

did you find the z a pain in the *** to work on? i did

 

haha..yeah right..actually i bought the civic as a beater last year..driving the si was just plain fun. i got the opportunity to do a b16 swap, so i did it..next thing i know the Z needed a turbo rebuild..so i sold it and bought a low mileage del sol VTEC. no, the Z was FAST. scary fast..reckless fast..too fast for me . if anyone is looking for a FAST street car..get a Z and do intake/exhaust/ecu..400 hp!

 

yeah, that was the other thing..try and do ANYTHING in an engine bay that looks like this...

10 hours to change a timing belt?? insane..

 

I like what you're doing with the sleeper, but I can see how people wouldn't want to race you. They don't think you have anything. I don't race really, but if I wanted to I'm sure I could catch a race easily in the Crx. Weird thing is I got more people wanting to race me in the Crx than in my Integra, even though the rex is much faster.

i live in dallas too, i havent ever been to the street races dont care too, is mac arthur just a meet or what? a friend of mine invted me to come w/ him out there, buut i already had plans
