on corner 11, Tuesday morning, at ITR Expo 2002.
My apologies for holding up B group on Tuesday morning while my beached CW got pulled from the sand. Also, a thanks to the folks who pointed out to the corner workers that I was beached in corner 11, coming within about 5 ft of the tire barricade.
I came into the corner hot and while starting to exit the corner I felt the rear end starting to give way.
I could have pulled it back but I would have risked a broadslide (and with 2 PY ITRs in hot pursuit - I would have definetly been t-boned)
I experienced the same type of slide on turn 10 during a run on Monday (with a passenger, but his name escapes me)
I decided to take the easy straight off into the sand trap, being mindful of going straight as not to cause a roll over, and praying not to hit the tire wall.
Sure I came into the corner hot, but I was trying to use most of the track.
Lesson learned!!!
(Kinda like I learned about keeping constant power on through 8-9)
This really was a fun event.
