TL Transmission.
hey my mom has a 99 TL with 78k on it. since i know the 98-02 accord trannys have that recall on it, and the TL is practically the Lux version od the accord, is my tranny on warranty up untill 100k, bc i drove it for about 3 or so months and the transmission is jerky. i dunno if thats how all honda engines are, but it seemed jerkey to me. so question is If i take it to acura and its the shitty tranny, will they replace it for free?
no its 98-02 accord with auto trannies..they are all the same..as for the CL and TL trannies..I would call your dealership and ask they should be covered just like the accords are considering they are almost the same
if your 99 TL was covered under warranty, it would have expired by now unless you bought the car late into 2000
warranty was/is for 7 years or 100K.
Like it was suggested above try for a good will replacement if you are having troubles

sabes que? i called amerrican hawnduh, they told me the warranty is:
for 109,000 miles or 7years +9months from the original purchase date
you should call for yourself though because all i did was ask for info and gave them the VIN, so may be differnt for you

i guess that class action lawsuit in cali won. so if yours was exteneded, everone who was originally covered would setill be covered under the exteneded warenty assuming they havn't gone over the millege or time period,
OP: best bet is to call american honda, or your local dealer

for the cars originally covered under warranty it was extended and the settlement was recently made final cars covered are
Honda Accord 00-01
Honda Odyssey 99-01
Honda Prelude 00-01
Acura 3.2 CL 01-02 (including type S)
Acura 3.2 TL 99-02 (including type S)
Your cars in service date would have to be no earlier than November 1st 1999 so if you bought your 99 TL in 98 then you are pretty much at the mercy of Acura customer service.....but thankfully they are very accomodating if you have complete and verifiable service records on your car.

that is the car's build date
my car's in service date was 3-31-02 and that means my warranty will expire on 12-31-09. You can get this information by calling your local Acura dealer and asking them what the car's "In Service date" was.
