Default Pic request: Oil Catch can setup.

Hey guys. I'm looking to replace my ghetto oil catch can with something nice and clean. My goal is to use a nice can with SS braided lines, but with still using the stock PCV outlets (valve cover & block). I dont want to add any additional outlets, just the stock ones. Anyone have pictures of this?

Thanks,
James

isnt it better to mount the catch cans as high as you can like by the battery or top of the firewall?

nope, the PVC catch can doesn't work by gravity. radiator breather tank does tho.
mount it anywhere, doesn't mater how long or location. BTW, catch can only works if you're hitting high RPM most of the time. I laugh when i see daily drivers with this setup and have clean lines haha.
Catch can on a K series is funny too. IIRC, the valve cover has a built in baffle to catch the oil.

tip. if you run both your IN and OUTlets on the catch can to your valve cover, then you have it setup wrong. In order for the catch can to work, the outlet needs a vac source (intake) to pull crank case oil into the can.

Here's one way to mount it . We sell these for $50 brand new or $40 for this lightly used one.

I thought that a large percentage of catch can users weren't using a vac source, they were just using the cans as a place for the vapors to vent to, and either had a drain line back to the block, or just drained the can every so often? I could very easily be wrong as I have no experience using one......

yeah, that does look pretty good. I decided to spend the money, and my tuner is making me the same setup that tepid1 has.

I lost my pictures, anyone have a picture of tepid1's setup?

i dont get how catch cans without filters mounted on top of them actually work?..... i have had an endyne and i see the point in it but i just dont see the point in plumbing in a sealed box onto a system that u are trying to open up and ventelate more efficiantly.

that's why catchcan has In and Out valves on them. the outlet goes to the intake to create intake pressure to pull the crankcase oil into the can.

the picture Pooper posted is the worst. I bet that can is clean and dry.

the endyne can has a filter only for venting. it doesn't do anything on its function. You still need both valves hooked up correctly for it to function.
