mine still has the pink paint on it from b4 it was shipped.
what grit should i start and end with so the paint will bite
im thinking crinkle red and what paint should i use and how long and what temp to bake for the crinkle look.

i just used a can of air craft paint stripper on my valve covers, and a scotch brite pad

 

my dad sed i cant use his oven will a heat gun work for the crinkle effect

Get some hi-temp paint from Wal-Mart or Autozone.

 

i just did mine..around where i live i couldnt find red wrinkle so i bought black wrinkle and sprayed red high temp on it..looks better imo instead of straight red which will be lighter

i want it to match my car since its rio red..

 

For some reasson i dont like red sohc valve covers, it seems like a dohc only thing.

 

i just wanted it to match the paint maybe like an anthricite?

There are places online where you can have custom paint matched paint placed in spray cans. Why would you bake the valve cover anyways? They make crinkle paint which requires no baking, I don't know where you got that idea.

Basically sand with 400 or higher. On something like a valve cover, it might be hard getting in the nooks and crannies so it'd be easier if you sand blasted it. Then wash with some dish soap, dry, and paint. That's it.

took the valve cover off and the heat shield too ima flat black rustoliem that bitch till i get a header.
might as well look nice for the time being..
im doing some other front end work ill tke some pics when i can ive been real busy since i started probation they made me quit my job at a bar since i had drug related offences.

or maybe ill take it down to the porter paint plant he worked at back in the day,who is now owned by ppg,he works with their aero space program they developed that radar absorbing paint how ever long ago.
he gots mad awards.
his boss's boss at the faa is george bush.
my dads baller status.
paid his way threw school him self just like me so he deserves every thing hes got.
hes bout to scoup a new carerra or caymen to replace his boxster s
and he tested the new 335xi turbo maybe to replace his a4 3. quattro on 18s w/h&r coil overs and track spacers and lltec dual exhaust
