can i smog my 90ef w/a d16z6 in it? & b18b in a 90 da integra?
i got a built z6 in my ef n i was wondering if i can smog it if i put the bolt ons back to stock, but the block n head is still built?
and what is a mobile check point
and what is a mobile check point
it might not pass cause its built but if it were stock it would pass assuming the motor is good. if its not a test only take it to a no pass no pay place. the b18b will pass in the da cause it came stock in an integra. moble check point? maybe like dui check point? or for smog or what?
Legally, you have to go to the state referee any time you do an engine swap that is not the same exact configuration as the original engine!
A "mobile check point" is when the Highway Patrol sets up a check point at the side of the road where they can check stuff. When you drive by, they can just wave you in for review. I've never seen one where I live, but do remember when "sobriety checks" were put up.

y ref the Z6? im runnin a Z6 in my 89 hatch. i got pulled over 2 weeks ago n asked to pop my hood by chp, they asked if any mods i said nope its just the way i bought last summer, he checked everything out n said i was too low, gave me a fix it ticket and i was on my way. just make sure that if u have the z6 motor to get a valve cover that doesnt say vtec and scrape the under hood emission sticker and say u got the hood from the junkyard thas y it doesnt match the motor if urs was a dx or std model and is now swapped with a mpfi motor. its been workin great for me. lol
Ok, when a cop pulls you over, all you have to say to him is that crx_si-r said that it's OK. Problem solved.
In regards to having a "built" engine pass through the referee process, it's possible assuming that the referee can't see what's been changed. Plus there is the fact that part of the process is a normal smog check. In one of your other posts you said that it's got an 11.4 to 1 compression. Obviously the referee can't see this, but I'd bet it will cause the sniffer to fail you.

INCORRECT
the vehicle will have to have the ecu and all emissions components that belong with that engine. the ef will have to have a fully functioning p28, the da must be obd1 or 2 depending on year of the engine.
