Actually, this may not be a bad thing. I have been noticing more and more bogging happening with my K&N these days. I'm contemplating switching to Injen/Fujita because of this.

Also, this discontinuing may be a sign that they are re-designing the intake... hopefully this assumption is true.

what do you guys mean by "bogging"? are you talking about a loss in torque? a bog when you launch?

Bogging when launching, or accelerating from low RPMs (between 2-2.5K). I never had these problems with the stock airbox.

That problem is inherent to SRI's.. you lose torque due to the short length of the intake arm. The factory compensated by drawing through piping in the bumper and fenderwell for a longer intake tract making the car feel a little more powerful in the low and midrange.. This was actually written about in a few reviews, the factory "tuned" intake on the SI. I don't think swapping brands of SRI would help, maybe a CAI or back to stock would.

Oh, and I believe the discontinuation is due to fitment issues.. There were several spots that things were a little close for me, even after alot of adjustment. Nothing horrible, just not quite up to normal standards @ K&N

It's entirely possible my tolerance for the bogging is shrinking. I can't get CAI since I'm moving to Seattle soon (rain rain rain rain rain!), but...the change in altitude may actually make it so the bogging isn't so bad. We'll see I guess.

I'm not suprised about the fitment issues, and I hope they re-design it a bit with more R&D.

She replied to me, stating that K&N is releasing a Mirror Finish and a slight redesign... I canceled my order (screw waiting) and went with an AEM CAI instead. (I am a CARB-EO Legal Nut)

Do a search on AEM CAI on here. I won't try to sway you one way or ther other, but do a bit of reading before you take delivery of said intake

I would personally go Injen or Fujita based on what I've heard from past model experiences and also experiences of other forum members on here and others for the 06+.
