Hey dudes and dudettes need some serious help here, bought/recieved '99 b16 tranny that supposively had no issues/ no grinds, well to my surprise when turning the mainshaft by hand it spins but only half a turn and then binds and it takes a vise grip(with glove between vise grip and shaft) to spin it all the way around, this just can't be right. The seller says it was working good in his car. And then I noticed mastic-like adhesive and asked him what the deal wit it and he says that the case had busted at one time and was replaced=adhesive gasket.
Is this an easy fix? Is it the input shaft bearing? The seller is cool so far and says he can replace it with a gsr trans he has in his car and use the b16 but I had my heart set on b16 for my gsr. I went through all 254 posts in the archive for b16 and found no answwer can someone point me in the right direction somehow. I turn to this forum to give and take damn good advice and I need some now
