Default Drive-by-wire = laggy, hesitant, anoying... (ranting)

Does anyone else find the drive by wire system super laggy? Its so bad on my car that I actually dont want to even drive it. Also, two of my freinds have them and the rear struts are going constantly.... Another notable is that some of the interior trims peices dont seem to be staying in there place. ie the little round vent on the passenger side on top of the dash comes out when someone passes a loud fart. Now I am assuming its the drive by wire thats causing the throttle issues. Things like when I have the pedal depressed and lift a tiny little bit and then press it down again there is about a 2 second delay where the car hesitates before deciding to go faster again. At stop lights I have to press the gas sometime (a second) before I begin releasing the clutch or else the car bucks and nearly stalls. This is NOT my first standard and I have Teg besides. I ask, why then if there was nothing wrong with a throttle cable did honda decide it was best to put in this aggravating new drive-by-wire setup? Does anyone else have any issues with it? Oh and I am driving an 07 FG (Dx-G) with about 12,000kms on it.

the drive-by-wire on my SI =

I have not had any such issue. The ONLY time I feel a "lag" is when I have the clutch in and I am just trying to rev my engine.

I've driven these car before and I do feel the lag. Yet most-all new cars will become equiped with them standard. *sigh*

ight. if there is a 2 second delay.. there is something wrong with you or the car. 2 seconds is long.. like extremely long. if you are dead honest then i would go to the dealership. if your extremely exaggerating it then the problem is on you. i autoX and if anything i would def. feel the delay there. but sorry, theres none.

Well I have no problems what so ever with mine mine is an 06 lx coupe, very rarely do I have customers complain of the *lag*, they can feel and notice the difference but no complaints.

If you have a two second delay then there is something wrong other than drive by wire. You should have it looked at while it's still under warranty.

I have drive by wire on my 2006 Accord 6-6 HFP Coupe, and there is nothing like a delay like you described.

*Emissions controls

*It allows the computer to take control of your throttle in certain safety related situations where the computer judges the driver does not know what he is doing.

*Believe it or not, it's a little cheaper than the throttle cable.

the reflash was only for early model 06 Civic SI's. this is an 07 DX. But either there's something wrong with the vehicle (because of the "2" sec. delay) or some1's over exaggerating

DX = Efficiency not performance. NOT the DBW several other variables involved including long gear ratio. If you want performance the R18 is not the best choice.

your car feels slow because you got a DX. not because of the DBW. get used to it. once you get used to the DBW. your straight.

The only thing i hate about the DBW is the bucking at low rpm while in stop and go traffic and when i am slowing down in 1st or 2cd with my foot off the gas as the revs slow down it kinda holds the rev a little and will jerk a little =/

Think the Si has lag? Drive a 2000 Audi A4, I could floor it and let off before the damn thing turned...

Ok, I went out today and its problably 1.5sec not 2 seconds but still I find it unbearable.... I love the car for so many reasons but I seriously cant get past this. Its mainly low speed in traffic when this occurs. And I dont know why people say I bought the car for performance I bought this car with the intention of having a reliable daily driver with good gas mileage. I have a boosted Integra for go fast... Anyway, I am going to bring it back and see what the dealer says... Knowing the poor service from the local Honda dealership they will say something like "no code on, cant help ya". But whatever.

my SI does it. gas peddal to the floor, release, and by the time im off it it hits 2500 rpm or so. what pisses me off is when i go from reverse to 1st gear, while still rolling backwards, and i try to go forward. i've killed the car a few times because i forget to hit the gas and give it a second to rev up. i could just be retarded and the only one with this issue.

That teg is rad by the way
