Mechanic needed for fixing up the Air Conditioning of my 93 Civic
If somebody is interested in earning some side cash and it is capable of doing A/C works, please help me out.
Problems:
R-12 system
AC failed to work at all around 100 degree and it would work and then fail and then work again intermittently about 10 minutes each around when the temperature is below 100 degree (not extremely hot). When it works, the AC blows icey cold air and the idle of my engine is normal (I can feel the drag of my engine power). When it doesn't work, my idle stays at 1500 rpm and the AC blows room temperature air. Doesn't feel the drag either (compressor clutch slipped/ failed to engage?).
Please contact me by PM or by phone if you are interested. Located in West Covina, CA 91791
Thanks

I am absolutely open to converting to R-134a. I think it might turn out cheaper overall. Can you do the conversion too?

If the problem is happening when it is very hot the system may be going off on a high pressure switch.
You should check your A/C condensor (Next to the radiator) for debris or damage, you might also want to spray it out with a waterhose and see if its dirty.
