I have a 95 accord that idles up and down. The check engine light comes on sometimes also it doesn't stay on all the time. What do you think the problem could be and how much do you think it will cost to fix it.

 

Throttle Position Sensor. You can test this by un hooking it and see if it stops. Honda will not just sell this part the sell the complete TB and it is not cheap. Best thing is to find a used one.

 

Mine is doing the same and I couldn't find a vacuum leak.... gonna check this as well. Thanks

 

one of the 1st steps you should do is to see if there are any trouble codes from the car's pc...

Do a search on IDLE or UP AND DOWN IDLE. You will have many responses, including from myself.

There can be MANY resaons for it.

 

clean your fitv and iacv... i just had an idle issue last week and i cleaned them with brake cleaner and it fixed my issue. took like 1/2 hour.. i also bled my cooling system cuz if you have air in your cooling system it can also cause an idle issue..
