does mud guards effect gas mileage?
does mud guards effect gas mileage? it seems its possible because it causes more drag and messes up the aerodynamics..
im deciding weather to get a pair or not but not willing to sacrifice gas mileage
post pictures too!

i cant imagine it making any signifficant difference. i dont think the wheelwells are aerodynamically designed anyway. most people will say it looks bad though.
C'mon....if you are serious about the question...... Im pretty sure that the mud guards will not affect your cars gas milage as much as maybe having your windows rolled down.... neither has a drastic change....Im sure that's nothing you have to worry about.. But that is just my opinion.. Sorry if i sound sarcastic.

Because they guard mud...? Neadless to say that when your car is lowered/slammed there is no realy point of having them unless you love the sound of draging plastic every time you hug a curve or go over bump. If you want the JDM look then paint them as your exterior color... zZz

no.

no.
its not gonna make much of a difference since its an optional mud guards. youll probably lose like a couple mile a tank, but thats nothing. this is a daily car its not nascar
Some people may think they look good without mudguards, but I live in Oregon where it rains a lot, and my car is frost white, so I left the mudguards on. They do serve a purpose.
in all hounesty they prolly do affect the aerodynamics of your car to some extent but this has to be the most lame question i have seen yet , i mean cmon are you really serious, or your joking your pulling our leg right , sure i know you are, hahaha thanks that was good

these things arent enzo's or lamborghinis...
the spoilers aren't functional, and while the coefficient of drag is lower than, say, on a jeep, its nothing significantly low.</TD></TR></TABLE>
The DC Integra has a CD of 0.31. A soft top Jeep wrangler has a CD of 0.58 (ref), plus much more frontal area. Lamborghini's and Ferrari's typically have a CD higher than 0.31 becuase they want to generate downforce and fuel economy is not a concern.
Not all spoilers on Integras are functional, especially the stock, non-ITR spoiler on the DC. The ITR and Mugen (generation 1 and 2 for the DC) versions certainly are, as they impart rear stability at speed and improve high speed braking. Is it noticeable at highway speeds? Slightly, but the effect greatly ramps above 80MPH.
To the OP, the mudflaps will not make a significant change to fuel economy. Most newer cars have small flaps in front of the wheels to split the air around them for a slight economy boost.

i dont even think it'll affect it a couple miles. maybe a couple feet?
