Default AEM Type R Cold Air Filter Bag?

Anyone know where to find the bag to protect the filter from water on the Type-R Cold Air? I've been looking all day and had no luck. Let me know if you have a place.

Thanks

maybe because there is no such thing. a bag on the filter would be counterproductive. think about it. you want a bypass valve if you're worried about hydrolock. but you'll lose some hp with one defeating the purpose of a cai.

I said the same thing when I saw it, but its made so that it still allows airflow. I've seen it installed before, so I know they sell it. Already thought about a bypass valve and decided against it after seeing this bag type of thing.

bumppp

so it's basically a bag with holes in it that allow airflow?

if air can get through this so called 'bag' then water can too.

The funny thing is, he was online when I posted that picture and didn't respond to the thread. I just hate how some people on HT think they know so much more then others just because they have a high post count. It really doesn't give them the right to be an *******.

But anyway, yeah thats what I was looking for. Now I have to find somewhere to buy it.

i dont see how that's not going to let water in. it looks like a mesh bag. if you submerge the filter with that on, you're still fucked. water splashing on the filter isnt a problem.

Submerging isnt the problem. I don't want ANY water entering my intake, that is the purpose.

yeah i have one on my 4 wheeler. they work with box type intakes very well (like your stock intake). i keeps the water out but not for long. if your worried about hydrolock get a short ram intake.

Those K&N PreCharger Filter Wraps are for dusty conditions. They are not intended to stop water.

http://www.knfilters.com/wraps.htm

If you have the stock ITR resonater box that draws air from the fender, you need not worry much about water.

WTF?!? That bag isn't going to stop water. You can fu(king see through it.

Those bags are made for off road/dirt racing. You put it on before entering those conditions and take it off when your done. It makes it so you don't ruin your filter from all the dust.

Here is a quote from the manufacturer's website: The PreCharger is designed to be run DRY...

Good luck trying to stop water with that thing.

Wait a minute. I didn't scroll down far enough on that page. It says that K&N makes one called a DryCharger that is pre-treated to repel water. My bad to the OP.

You learn something new every day.

you fine with your aem cold air on your itr. i had my now for 3 years. never took it off and onlyu change filter every 3 months. what im saying with rain soaking or drizzling i never had problem. the filter sits in front of the tire. not behind it. no sence of getting excited for it. bottom line. IF YOU DONT WANT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. DONT SPEND MONEY ON IT.

The thing is, I'm putting the ITR CA on my GSR not a ITR, but I'm assuming its the same way in the wheel-well or am I wrong?

it's the same. water splashing on the filter every so often isnt going to do anything.
