Alright this is my second posting on the same problem car.

in the earlier posting i said that i floored my gas pedal in my Honda accord lx 1998 automatic trans. 2.3 liter engine one night while my wife and I were fighting.

When we got home and came to a near stop to make a u turn to park my car on the curve the car felt as though it wanted to stall out on me as though i was driving a stick shift.

Now i took it to a auto zone because my check engine light came on and they said it was multiple misfires. Well I let someone work on it and they changed the whole distributor and the igniter for the distributor and NOTHING. They couldnt figure out why it wouldnt start.

Now i was suposed to get a tune up a while back but never did because I forget since i hardly drive this car.

Finally i talked to a friend of mine who owns a garage and I took it over there. We messed around with it for a while and we couldnt figure it out and finally he took a vice grib and clamped a hose and the car started up. So I bought a new fuel pressure regulator and put it in. Now I can get it to start up with out the clamp but I still struggle.

He hasn't been able to work on my car for a while because he has customer cars to work on first before mine because he is doing mine for free other then car part prices.

So I'm tinkering around myself while I wait for his professional help.


now after that long story this is what is going on.


I can get the car to start up sometimes on one try but you can hear it struggle at the start.

When I do get it to start sometimes i can rev my engine nice and clear, but at other times i lightly press on the gas and it will die on me or it will rev and when i get to a higher rpm it will die on me.

This is in park.

Now a few things i noticed.

I dont remember my fuel injection making the noise that is making now when i put it in acc.

well i dont know if its my fuel injection but it sounds like my fuel being pumped in.

Two after a little i heard a dripping sound.

As though there was some sort of liquid dripping but there wasnt anything falling to the ground of the garage.

I didnt know if it was like the oil dripping in the engine or what.


BUt other then that I struggle to turn it on and when i do get it start up it sometimes revs clean or revs and dies.


If you have any idea's let me know. I'm not really stressed because Its a car i dont care to much and i'll sell it when i get it fixed.


Oh by the way the only mod i have done was the AEM V2 cold air intake.

How's your spark plugs?

If you had bad flooding because of a ruptured FPR, you may have fouled your plugs. Try new ones. You could take them out & look at them, but for the price of new plugs, I wouldn't bother putting the old ones back in.
(Use NGK brand - Hondas seem to like them.)

I bought new plugs for it earlier after i changed out the FPR and I guess i'll try to put more gas in it but it has just a little under a quarter so i dont think its that either.

But I guess I'll just put more gas and then just mess around from there until he can work on my car again.


I'll let you guys know what it is when ever he has time to figure out what it is.
