itr valves...
hey guys, we recently put a 96 spec itr motor in my us itr. It has bolt ons, clutch/flywheel, and is tuned. I'm curious, though, as to how safe it is to be revving all the way to 9000 rpms (on the tach)on stock valves. We tuned the car using CROME, and set the rev limiter at 8700 (as you may know, the tach is always 300 rpms higher than in actuality, since the stock limiter is set at 8400, but the tach shows 8700 when it kicks in). So, basically, I'm revving to 8700 rpms at the track over and over (300 rpms over stock limits)... do I have anything to worry about on the stock valves, or am I just being paranoid?
9k is ok, i ran 9239 on the Power FC with just ITR springs.....just don't do it every shift and make sure you are tuned with the same gas you run daily.
