The terms "stage 1" and "stage 2" don't mean squat... they're just trivial names the manufacturer puts on the clutch to specify an increase in holding power. One company's stage 1 could be completely different in grip and feel than another company's.

To answer your question, Exedy makes good OEM replacements, but remember to have your flywheel resurfaced anytime you replace a clutch surface.

For your D16 that's all you should need. So how do you figure you're at 180 ponies? Don't tell me you added up all the number claims from the aftermarket parts you installed.

180 from a D? If that's is so it must be boosted cause my B only makes around 165 at the flywheel and about 140-150ish to the wheels I bet.

If you are indeed making 180 then just get an Exedy Stage 1 Organic Clutch. That's what I have and it performs perfectly. If you are stock or just minor bolt-ons, then I suggest Exedy OEM replacement. I still had the original clutch in my D16Z6 in my old car at 155,000 miles and it still worked fine with minor bolt ons.

Exedy organic stage one.

Tried and tested a killer clutch.

It's fine for any mildy modded car. Even under low boost the clutch is perfect.

Unless your boosted you've only got about 95 hp to the wheels FYI.

Gripforce clutches on ebay has a great deal on the clutch and you're choice weight of a fidanza flywheel.

Fidanza FTW.

Though I wouldn't waste it on a d.

no, dont get the exedy oe clutch bro...i have it on my y8 tranny and pedal feel is way too soft. I'd go with a stage 1 from exedy or act. If you got any more questions about the exedy OE pm me bro...

I have the exedy OE replacement and I like it a lot. I had a stock cluch in before and the pedal feel is very similar. Just takes getting used to. All these kids switching from stage 4 clutches are of course going to think it's soft. It's a STOCK replacement.

Besides, exedy makes some of the best pressure plated out there.

Yeah, I'm interested on what turbo setup you're running too.

Or was it the "+25 hp" from the ebay fart can and the "+25 hp" from the "DC-S Sports header" on ebay, round up the BHP, 130 + 25 + 25 = 180.

Presto!!

I say ACT Stage 1, don't go with the exedy OEM.

5 grand and no mod list?

When I spend cash like that, I am more than happy to list the parts that made it, a pic, and a dyno sheet.

I would just rock a stage 1 ACT as well though.
