Default No power after VTEC

I have been trying to figure out why I have no power when I hit VTEC. I have no Cel or anything. Low end torque is fine, but ,idrange to top end power just dies. I have the basic bolt ons i/e/h/fpr/hi flow cat. On top of that I hear a hissing noise only when I am in gear. I went to a local muffler shop and no leaks.

anybody with info would be great.

Sorry, I meant to put I have no power after VTEC engages. I can still hear the crossover at 5200 rpms when VTEC hits though.

Its weird cause it feels like the car wants to go, but something is holding it back.

??

How would I be able to locate a vacuum leak? I was trying to rev the car up and listen for it, but it's hard to tell.

As for the ignition components, what would I be looking for? wires? cap and rotor?

And what do you mean by a miss?

Thanks again

sounds like you're describing some blockage in your exhaust system.

i had similar issues and had a clogged cat converter.

as usual, check your ignition and fuel system but if your veh operates normal and you have this problem only at high rpms in VTEC, check your cat.
